IME Business to Business

Business to Business...

Manufacturers throughout the region are continually being forced to maximise every resource in an attempt to remain competitive. Learning from others and knowledge transfer is one of the very best ways to ensure that your company remains a sustainable entity in today’s changing environment.

Businesses will have the chance to share knowledge and experience with leading regional organisations that have implemented successful strategies and processes via a series of Best Practice visits organised by Inside Manufacturing Manufacturing IME educational national curriculum visitEnterprise (IME).

  • Structured visits to host companies give an insight into how they have implemented innovative management schemes, met specific regional challenges and developed processes to give them a competitive advantage.
  • Ideas and inspiration gained can be used to implement new practices and promote more effective processes in manufacturing companies throughout the West Midlands region.

Hosts range from small to medium enterprises (SME’s) to global market leaders, each with best practice to share in a number of areas relevant to other manufacturers. Host companies include Mazak Europe, Remploy Automotive, C. Brandauer, Power Panels Electrical Systems, Renishaw PLC, AP Driveline and many more.

Each Best Practice Visit costs £25 per delegate and includes the following:

  • in depth presentations on two specific topic areas
  • a full accompanied site tour
  • question and answer sessions
  • refreshments and lunch,

and....an excellent opportunity to network with like minded companies

Visits so far have focused on 'Improving process capability', 'Adding value to the supply chain', 'Manufacturing Philosophy', 'Continuous Improvement', 'Staff training programmes',  'New product introduction' and 'Positive about disabled people'.

Delegate comments from the visits include:

  • I think the value of the visit is in the day itself-which was excellently delivered,
  • topics were comprehensively covered and well presented,
  • the speakers view was of extreme value and gave warts and all,
  • the site tour was excellent as was the hospitality on the day,
  • extremely open and informative-well done.
