Following their successful visit in 2008 Yamazaki Machinery UK Ltd/Mazak are offering a closer look to delegates as part of the IME Best Practice visit programme.
Visit Date: Tuesday 21st April 2009
Address: Badgeworth Drive, Worcester, WR4 9NF
Cost: £25 per delegate & free to IME host company employees.
Yamazaki Mazak UK Limited is home to the European manufacturing plant and European group headquarters. Over 85% of the Worcester plant’s production is exported into continental Europe. Around half of the machine tools sold by Mazak in Europe are manufactured in Worcester, the remainder coming from Mazak’s other 8 factories worldwide.
It can be argued that Mazak’s Worcester plant is perhaps the most complete and up to date machine tool manufacturing plant in Europe. It is not just an assembly plant but a complete machine tool manufacturing operation, machining components and casting beds, manufacturing spindles, tool turrets and magazines and most other key parts of the machine in-house. Painting and assembly is also performed on site, helping to enable the just-in-time and flexible output techniques necessary in today’s compe
titive global marketplace.
