Would my company be suitable?

We would like to speak to any manufacturing company based in the West Midlands who feel they have implemented successful strategies and processes into their organisation.

Our host companies vary in size from small to medium enterprises (SMEs) to global market leaders, but each can demonstrate Best Practice in a number of areas relevant to other manufacturing companies. Some of our current host companies include Yamazaki Mazak UK Ltd, Renishaw PLC,  ZF Lemforder UK Ltd and Precision Micro Ltd.

We look for companies who can showcase Best practice in two topic areas and demonstrate their actions with a site tour. Previous topics offered include continuous improvement & training; visual management, manufacturing strategies for the 21st Century, effective communications, improving process capability, cellular manufacturing, Kanban, new product introduction and supply chain development.

Our team will assist you in identifying your specialist area and work with you to design the schedule for the day. All promotion and bookings are taken care of by us and our attendance on the day ensures things run smoothly. All hosts have the right of veto of an individual or group and we will even work with you to promote your visit to a particular sector.

What does my company get for being an IME host?

• Recognition for your achievements within the region’s businesses and schools,
• additional exposure through IME’s marketing, website and PR,
• you will have the chance to participate in visits to other companies and learn from their experiences,
• participating in IME will give you the chance to network with other Midlands businesses, exchanging ideas and knowledge,
• you can use the visits to raise the visibility of your initiatives within your own company and continue the momentum of improvement.

• As an active IME host you will be entitled to a number of free places on a Best Practice visits to other host companies.

What does it cost me?

As a host company you will prepare the visit material  with our assistance and involve the appropriate members of staff.  We will help you prepare an agenda, company profile and any other documents you may need. All administration involving delegates will be taken care of by IME. Costs incurred such as teas, coffees and lunch can also be reimbursed to host companies.
