The design process is explained and students will see the design environment with real time simulation of component stress patterns. The manufacturing process will show high precision gear cutting and Gear Box Casing machining on the most modern CNC machining Centres to a very high quality surface finish and accuracy. Depending on the visit arrangement the students may see the complete assembly process or the development test area where systems are load tested over the full design speed range using a very modern test rig with sophisticated energy recovery capability.
