Lafarge Cement is the UK's largest cement manufacturer, supplying around 50 per cent of the market. The company's cement works around the country have the capacity to make more than 6 million tonnes of cement a year.
The Cauldon factory began operations in 1957; it is a modern, single-kiln dry process with the capacity to make up to 950,000 tonnes of cement a year.
